Tera Term is an open-source, free terminal emulator that has been programmed and is a complete program. You can alter the settings for serial by clicking setup and then choosing the option ‘Serial Port’. There are other important functions you can alter in the Terminal setup interface, including the size of the terminal, new-line size terminal ID, and so on.
If you want to see the correspondence between the program and the external system, then you can enable ‘Local echo’ by going to ‘Setup’ and then pressing ‘Terminal’. You might not be able to view the data typed by Tera Term sends from the app and the device.
